Chat Up that Yoga Class Cutie
It’s no secret that people who practice yoga regularly have some of the best bodies around. Also people in class probably have or are working towards a deeper self-awareness, a nice quality to cultivate. We’re off to a great start for an ideal mate, or at least a date!
Here is a quick list of 10 Do’s and Don’ts for talking to that cute yogi on the next mat.
1.
Do smile. You can never go wrong with a smile. It’s good for meeting people and it’s good for you!
2.
Do not stare. Nobody likes to be stared at! A peaceful yogi may even say something not so nice to get you to stop.
3.
Do keep it simple. Say a short hi if they glance in your direction. If your hello is returned keep it at a short understated conversation for now.
4.
Don’t ask a million questions. Especially if you don’t know the person you are talking to very well; no one likes to be bombarded before class.
5.
Do compliment. You can’t go wrong with a compliment. Keep it short and simple and genuine.
6.
Don’t try to make plans. Even if you think you’ve hit it off
don’t try to make plans for a date. If your yogi crush isn’t into it
you both will be in for an awkward moment and class.
7.
Do stay focused. Remember you came to practice, so when class starts stay on it.
8.
Don’t try to relate during class. Keep your eyes on your own mat
during class. Let your yogi crush have their own class without your
interference.
9.
Do smile and wave bye. It’s always good to keep someone wanting
to know more about you. A little mystery goes a long way. Smiling and
waving bye is polite and this way, interacting with you is the last
thing they did before they left the room.
10.
Don’t linger. No one likes to be smothered especially after a
yoga class. Say goodbye and go home. You’ll see your crush soon
enough. Allow space for them to think of you.
