Benefits:
- Physical: A twisted standing pose
- Emotional: Grounding
- Rx for: Boredom, IBS
From Triangle pose, keep the feet where they are and draw the torso up so its parallel to the floor. Begin to twist the body across the front leg so the chest reaches toward the thigh and bring the opposite arm to the outside of the foot. Take the twist into the upper body, keeping the spine long and the breath free. Then reach the extended arm over the ear, palm down while you send the shoulder blades down the back.
Hint: Keep the hips level. There is a tendency to round the low back but flatten it out by reaching the crown of the head away from the tailbone to get the greatest benefit from the pose. Also bend the front knee if you need to find more freedom and comfort in the spine.
